Last night, we watched a Christmas movie as we would always do every Christmas season. This was entitled “Last Chance for Christmas” and the story revolved around looking for a replacement for one of Santa’s reindeer who got injured or else Christmas will have to be cancelled.
This wasn’t the first movie that we watched that had a plot on saving Christmas. As entertaining as these movies are, I hope we know the truth. There is nothing and no one that can destroy Christmas. It doesn’t matter if our house is nicely decorated or the gifts are piled up under our tree, Christmas already was and is and always will be. Christmas doesn’t need saving because CHRISTMAS SAVED US.
Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Are you stressed out already for Christmas? Are you overwhelmed by all your to-do lists? Friend, take a moment and say this to yourself: “Christmas saved me.” As we enter this month of December, amidst all the busyness, the traffic and all the parties, let’s keep our hearts in focus. This season is about celebrating the child that was born a couple of thousands of years ago… who lived and died to save us.
